Remembering Al Lesiak

The JSRC mourns the loss of our friend & super volunteer, Al Lesiak. Please keep his family in your thoughts & prayers during this difficult time.  A final message from Al Lesiak’s son, Steve: “Thank you for all the support. Over 50 of Al’s closest friends came to visit with him over the past two days. They say the hearing is the last to go, so I know he heard from everyone how much he was loved and just how much he will be missed. It was a perfect ending to life of a very kind man. He passed away this evening and I know the love from today filled his tired heart and he took that love with him for his next journey ahead. I will send funeral plans as soon as I can.”

Planned services are as follows:

Viewings: Friday 2/21, 4-8pm,  Saturday 2/22, 10am-12pm

Funeral Services: Saturday, 2/22, 12pm-1pm
Gray Funeral Home

The JSRC participated in the Runner Safety Awareness Week as events were held each day in either New York City, all of the boroughs, Boston and Ocean Grove, NJ  Industry experts and community leaders gathered to talk about how runners can face the road or trail with confidence

On Sunday, January 26th, the JSRC  held a "Citizen Run" during the normal weekly Sunday Runday Group Run in Ocean Grove, NJ.  We were honored to be joined by Kelly Herron.  Through her organization "Not Today", Kelly promotes runner safety and personal protection.  Her advocacy efforts landed her on the November cover of Runners' World and she also stars in their documentary entitled, "Not Today", which will have an upcoming release date.  Thank you to all the JSRC and She Run's members that came out and supported the event.
