JERSEY SHORE GRAND PRIX

 Rules for 2004 and 2005 

 

Run and finish ANY of the Jersey Shore area annual road races on the list of events posted on the www.jsgrandprix.com web site. A maximum of twenty races will be counted in the final scoring. You may run more than twenty, but we will select only your twenty best point scoring races for your total.

Points are awarded and accumulated in three ways:

            1. Participation points: All finishers receive 5 points automatically.  

You do not need to be a member of any organization, nor pay any additional fee. You are automatically entered into the Grand Prix when your run any of the events listed, no additional signup is needed.

 

            2. Age Group Points: Top 20 finishers in each 5-year age group are awarded additional points. 

First place in age group 20 points, Second place 19 points, etc.

Age group points are awarded as per age on race day. 

 

            3. Overall Points: Top Five finishers overall will also receive additional bonus points. 

First Place overall 10 points 

Second Place overall - 9 points 

Third Place overall - 8 points 

Fourth Place overall - 7 points

Fifth Place overall - 6 points

Note: The winner of a race always gets 35 points: 5 participation points, 20 points for being first in the age group, and 10 points for being first overall.

            

A searchable database will be posted at www.jsgrandprix.com so participants can follow their status throughout the year.
