Halloween Train Run

Some of the participants in the Halloween Train Run at Johnny Mac's house of Spirits after the Run. Despite some very nasty weather a good sized group took the train from Asbury Park to either Bradley Beach, Belmar or Spring Lake.  Thye braved cold, rain, sleet and a strong head wind on their return.  They were rewarded at the finish inside Johnny Mac's with Pizza and Beer.

Come Celebrate the Grand Opening of our  New Meeting Location at Club House South - Fifth Ave Pavilion on Belmar Boardwalk at 6 PM

Come out to the Club's Thursday Run in Belmar.  We will be meeting this coming Thursday at our new locaion Inside the Fifth Avenue Pavilion on the Boardwalk - our new Club House South. We will have snacks and refreshments after the run. Bathrooms are open and a place to change.  Sorry - no showers- yet!.  All paces represented from under 6 min/mile to 12 plus min/mile.  We run distances of from 3 to 8 miles. Stop by and get in the Picture!

Spring Half Marathon?

If you are thinking of doing a Spring Half Marathon like the Asbury Park Half Marathon on April 21, 2012 you can start to get ready. The Half Marathon Training Program will start on Saturday January 7, 2012 and meet every Saturday leading up to the Half Marathon.  That program is intended for people who feel comfortable running about 5 miles. It's open to all and is especially good for people planning to do their first Half Marathon. If you need to get ready for that class there is a "prep" class which builds up your mileage so you will be ready come January.  The Intermediate Program will start on Tuesday, November 7. Here are the details:

NYC Marathon Volunteers and Bus

Looking for New York City Marathon volunteers to help with the Cherry Hill reunion area on Sunday November 6th. The JSRC has been helping the marathon and working this area since 1999. This is a volunteer commitment for the entire day, we report to Central Park around 9:30am and finish up around 5:00pm. The club does provide a bus leaving from the Red Bank commuter lot at 8:00am and returning after we finish up. A nominal fee of $10 is charged for the bus ride. If you are interested please contact Philip Hinck at phinck@comcast.net and provide your full name, date of birth, personal email address and cell phone number (if you have) .  There are a limited number of slots available - first come first served.

We still have a few seats left on the busses which will take runners and spectators to the start and then pick them up at the finish in Central Park.  Sign Up soon to reserve your seat as we will not add another bus.
