Sunny skies and temps
uncharacteristically for late November in the upper 50's made for a great
day at the Annual Manasquan Turkey Trot held on Saturday, November 21st.
Some 2200 plus runners participated in this year's Five Mile Run through the
streets of Manasquan and several hundred more in the One Mile Prelim event.
Lots of runners wore Turkey Head Dress and celebrated at local establishments as is the Annual tradition.
The Jersey Shore Running Club provided baggage check services for the runners.
In the Five mile the overall and men's winner was Kyle Price of Milltown shown on the left in a time of 26:73 and for the women it was Heather Parks of shown on the right in a time of 28:57.
An interesting note about the women's winner Heather Parks - she won this race as Heather Bury in 1997 in a time of 29:09 - seems she has picked up a step or two from 12 years ago!

Sunny skies and temperatures in the
60's greeted the 300 plus runners at the 30th Annual Hashathon Trail Run in
Cheesequake State park on Sunday, November 8th. The runners were
challenged with a tough course of hills and narrow trails through the scenic
park.
The men's winner was Luciano DeOliviera shown finishing on the left of West Long Branch who was just coming off of the NYC Marathon the week before and finished in a time of.40:01. For the women it was Amy Nalven of Brick shown on the right breaking the tape who was making her come back to racing after giving birth to her son Miles this past summer and she finished in.47:35
Many runners came in their "retro" running gear which included old t-shirts from the 80's, classic running shoes and tie dye shirts (and even tie dyed hair).
The race also marked the debut of the JSRC Running Band comprised of "Mad Man Chickie" on drums, "Dizzy Dave" on trumpet and "Blowin Bob" on horns. They serenaded the runners throughout the park and their melodies could be heard over the entire course. They are recruiting band members and will be releasing their first album soon - it should be a "Thriller". Check them out at upcoming JSRC Events.
Congratulations to Race Director Mark Griggs and all the volunteers who put together another memorable Hashathon for the ages.
Among the many club finishers were:
Laura Demeo , Jon Brodsky 11:40
