The Start of the Manasquan Turkey Trot -JSRC's Ali Belicose was the first Women Finisher in a time of 30:58

Club Volunteer Opportunity

The Jersey Shore Running Club is looking for a JSRC Volunteer Opportunity Coordinator.
This person would, in general,

1. Be the point of contact for people from the web who want to volunteer for JSRC events.

2. Maintain a list of event dates and times that have volunteer opportunities for JSRC and match volunteers to opportunities.
3. Distribute those volunteer lists to the appropriate race director or event volunteer coordinator.

The Start of This Year's Hashathon in Cheesequake State Park

Laura Rhatigan, of Brant Beach,  the women's winner in a time of  48:10 on the left "running on the trail" and Joe Pawlish of Asbury Park the men's winner in a time of 38:45 breaking the finishing tape.  Holding the tape were Diane Cheer and Joanne Dreicer. 

Congratulations to Mark Griggs and all the volunteers who made for another successful Hashathon.

Hashathon

The Hashathon is all set to run on Sunday, Nov 13.  Its a great trail race through the trails of Cheesequake State Park which is conveniently located off the Garden State Parkway.  

George McCormick 5K Run

The Start of the George McCormick Run

A little on the cool side and some wind greeted the runners at the George McCormick 5K held in Lake Como.  The men's winner in a time of 17:47 was Eric Escorcia of Howell shown on the left was and for the women on the right  it was Nicole Donahue of Wall in a time of 21:27.

Runners were treated to a Post Run Barbecue at Bar Anticipation.  The sun was out so a good time was had by all.

Good Luck NYC Marathoners

Good luck to everyone doing the NYC Marathon next Sunday.  Look for JSRC at the Finish area - we will be wearing our ORANGE - so wear something ORANGE so we can spot you and take your picture.

NYC Midnight Run Update

Every year the Club Sponsors a bus or two to the NYC Midnight Run on New year's Eve.  We are looking for someone who would like to host the event this year. If you are interested please let us know - just send an email to jsrc@hotmail.com

Superman Leads The Runners at the Start

The Sun did come out along with lots of costumed runners for the Club's 12th Annual Trick or Trot 4 Miler held in Long Branch.  The runners traversed the 4 mile course along the Ocean Promenade, Boardwalk and return around Seven President's Park.  A strong wind did not deter lots of fast times. 

The men's winner was Jeff Propert of Wall in a time of 21:48 shown on the left breaking the tape. .  For the women it was Lisa Wilhelm of Little Egg Harbor in a time of 25:12 shown on the right.

Congratulation to Race Director Lou Malizoso and the many volunteers who helped stage another successful event.
