Week 4 of the Club's Summer Series was not a complete wash out but pretty close to it. But the rain did not deter a hardy group of participants who wanted to get valuable series points. As it turned out it was actually a pretty good night for running with light rain cooling off the runners as they made their way around the 5 K course in the complex.
Come on out for Week 5 of the Summer Series which will be Mizuno Night - winners in the 5K will get Running Shoes courtesy of Mizuno. .
To participate in the final week you need to have run in at least one race so we get your handicap time so come on out this Thursday. Remember Youth under 18 are only $1.00. Rumor has it there is a Post Race Party every week in the parking Lot.

A good turnout foe the Annual Ocean Grove Biathlon held on Saturday, July 18th in the Victorian Jersey Shore Town of Ocean Grove. A slightly modified course from previous years for the runners and swimmers. The race started off with a 2 mile run starting in town and then along the boardwalk and back to the beach and a 300 yard swim in the ocean. The ocean was calm for the swimmers as they dived into the water for their swim along the shore and to the finish on the beach. It was on the warm side for the runners who certainly cooled off with their dip in the ocean.
Coming in first for the men was Phil Hume and for the women it was Dawn Wilcox.
Matt Shafer 20:16, Ralph Garfield 24:07(1ag)

Its not too early to gear up fore your planned Fall Marathon or Half Marathon. As we always do our Sunday Runs at Bodman Park are an excellent location to get your training in. The course is mostly shaded from the summer sun and has plenty of water stops, good company at all paces and post run refreshments. We meet every Sunday at Bodman Park in Middletown which is just off of Navesink River Road. We run on back roads and trails with very little car traffic so its a safe place to run. Start your training at an upcoming Sunday Run. Runs start at 8 AM and in the summer the long run group usually goes out early to beat the heat..
