JSRC Gives

The Club at its last meeting made numerous donations to local worthwhile causes.  Among them were:  Adopt A Family, Deal Fire Department, Children's Brain Tumor Foundation, Love Inc, Interfaith Neighbors, SAC Youth Running Program, Synergy, RRCA ROADS Scholar, Friends of the Park, Shuan Robinson Recovery Fund, Kerry Guibord Fund, The Stone Church of Middletown, The Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean County, Long Branch Recreation, Wall Recreation, Share USA.

These donations are in addition to all the money our events raised for numerous causes throughout the year.  This totaled well in excess of $100,000.

Thanks to all the participants, club members, officers and especially the volunteers who made this possible.

Remember we always could use volunteers and come on out to our Club Events. they are always fun and contribute to the local community at the Jersey Shore.

Spring Training

This Sunday -  Directions to Bodman Park in Middletown

Marathon training for Spring Marathons started last Sunday at the Club's Regular Sunday Run in Middletown.  There was a large turnout of over 60 runners of all levels of abilities from sub 3 hour marathoners, middle of the packers to 5 hour plus runners. Its not too late to get in with the group this coming Sunday especially with a slow winter race schedule.   The training is good for all the upcoming spring marathons and is geared to the National Marathon to be held on March 24th in our Nations Capital, Washington DC and the Ocean Drive Marathon to be held at the Jersey Shore in Cape May, NJ on March 25th or the Women's Only MORE Marathon also on March 25th in New York City.  It will also be good for other marathons to include the Pocono Marathon on May 6th,  the Iron Division 26.2 Mile Individual Run of the Jersey Shore Relay on April 21 and all the other marathons this spring..

So if you are interested in training with a great group stop by. We have an experienced group of runners who have run many marathons all over the world and will gladly guide you to a successful experience and give you the tips that will help you along the way.   We always have lots of water stops, post run refreshments, all levels of ability and most of good company for a long run.

Marathon Training Runs normally start at 7:30 AM with the standard Sunday Run group going out at 8 AM - feel free to join either group.

Walkers Also Invited!

As Well as Runners Just Wanting to Run With a Group for 6 to X Miles

Did you know we have a group that does a 6 mile walk every Sunday starting at 8 AM at Bodman Park?  Bring your non running friends to the run and they can walk while you run! Or try something different and WALK - great for recovering from some injuries or to get into Race Walking as a cross training..

Many runners also just do a nice 6 mile or 10 mile loop - so there is something for everyone at all paces.

Saturday at Holmdel Starts

This Saturday at 10 AM

The traditional Saturday morning run at Holmdel Park gets going this Saturday, January 6th at 10 AM.  The group meets at the visitors center and runs about 5 miles through some scenic trails.  Its a great way to get out of the winter wind.  All paces and abilities are welcome. Stop by and check it out this Saturday!
