A large contingent of JSRC'ers (approx 34) travelled down to Key West to soak up the sun and experience the Half Shell Half Marathon.
Key West is a party town. There was something for everyone. Some enjoyed a good book poolside while others did the "Duval Street Crawl"
Other than Florida, we were the largest state delegation at the race, followed by Texas and Illinois. The race was well organized and provided a great way to take in the island. Nancy Thorne and Liz Ireland placed in their age groups.
The race attracts about 400 runners and is in it's seventh year. With our distinctive "Away team" shirts, we were noticed by all.
Perfect weather, great restaurants, great bars, snorkeling trip, hot tubs, party and a wonderful group of people made for a truly memorable long weekend with many looking forward to next year!. Club Finishers included:

A great turn out for our first of hopefully many Hot Chocolate Runs this past Thursday with a group of about 40 runners braving the wintry cold on the boardwalk in Belmar and Spring Lake. After the run the group had some really hot chocolate topped with tasty whipped cream and it made the run well worth it. Check this page for our next hot chocolate run.
