Some of the 70 plus JSRC Cruisers getting ready to board for the Annual JSRC Cruise aboard the Jersey Girl on Sandy Hook and the Shrewsbury River. Hosts were Tom Morrison and Mary Moriarty who created an Orange Themed event.

The
Annual Bradley Beach 5K drew a huge crowd of over 500 runners on an ideal
morning for a run. The runners were treated to a break in the heat and a
cool ocean breeze kept them cool along the ocean front race.
The men's winner shown on the left was in a time of 15:31 and for the women it was Cheri Kenah on the right of Wall in a time of 17:48.
Congratulations to the Race Committee and the many volunteers who made for another successful event.

They raced down Kingsley and along Ocean Avenue and then onto the brand new Boardwalk for a finish by "Madam Marie". The five hundred plus runners had some warm weather to contend with but they were not deterred as the finish chute was quite busy on the boards.
The overall winner was in a time of 15:44 was Drew Davis of East Stroudsberg, Pa followed by Bill Hofman of Eatontown in a time of 15:56 and for the women it was in a time of 17:14 it was Victoria Genushina of Brooklyn, NY followed by Cheri Kenah of Wall in a time of 17:35.
For Karl Cramer (pictured on the left) of Valley Cottage, NY the Race was "warm up" for the Annual Windmill Hot Dog Eating Contest held later that day at Bar Anticipation. Karl was the runner up taking home a big trophy and a need to go for a long run the next day.
Congratulations to the City of Asbury Park for hosting another successful Race with cooperation from both the Jersey Shore Running Club and the Freehold Area Running Club, the Shore Athletic Club. The event was sponsored by Asbury Park Urban Enterprise Zone Program and benefits the Asbury Park High School Job Training Program "Purpose at Heart."

A huge field of just about 1000 runners participated in this popular Jersey Shore Race through the tree lined streets of Sea Girt down to the ocean front and a return by the train station. The overall winner was Patrick Hedder of Bernardsville in a time of 16:21 - Patrick was also the first into the dunk pool after the race,. For the women it was Megan Phillips of Brielle in a time of 17:56 - it was not clear if Megan participated in the dunk contest.

A large crowd for the Annual Neptune City 5K held this past Saturday through the streets of this Jersey Shore town. The overall winner was in a Naz Merchant of New Brunswick in a time of 16:29 and for the women it was Cheri Kenah of Wall in a time of 18:05.

The
JSRC Summer Series wrapped up its tenth consecutive season at the Wall Municipal
Complex on July 28, 2005. The 9 and Under Half Milers ran their regular
lap around the course, then the 14 and Under Milers did their usual course in
the opposite direction. The 3 Miler featured the Handicap race with runner
receiving a handicap based on their fastest time of the season. Clarence
Lurch (age 84) of Wall Township put in a stellar performance to come in first
overall in the event. See the photo on the left showing Clarance checking
out his award at the finish.. Afterwards, Series awards were handed out for all
three events. In the Half Mile it was Kelly Campbell of Wall and Andrew
Dombrowiecki of Ocean who garnered the most points for the series. In the
Mile event it was Andrew Dombrowiecki again and John Scotto of Spring Lake who
tied for the most points on the boys side and for the Girls it was Tracy
Campbell of Wall who just beat out her sister Allison by three points. in the
three Mile it was Jennifer Nelson of Barnegat and Joe Donahue of Point Pleasant
who were the overall point winners for the series.
The First Family was the Campbell's followed by the Dombrowiecki's.
Afterwards runners were treated to a Pizza Party and went through over 400 slices of pizza.
Thanks to all the volunteers who showed up for the finale as well as those who came out during the series.

john Forrester of Little Silver was the first overall finisher in the Ocean Grove Biathlon this past Saturday in a time of 14:47. The first woman was Allison Linnell of Colts Neck in 17:42. The winners are pictured on the left.

The final week of the series saw
some familiar winners and new faces. In the Half Mile Andrew Dombrowiecki
and Kelly Campbell continued their winning ways. in the Mile John Scotto
and Tracy Campbell also continued their winning ways. For the Open 3 Miler
Joe Donoughue on the right in 16:42 repeated and for the women it was Amanda Marino of
Jackson on the left in 17:05 (this may be a course record - we are researching) as a new
winner.
Finale of the Summer Series takes place this Thursaday, July 28th. We'll have the regular Kid's Races followed by a handicapped 3 miler. Series awards will follow with a post race party. Come on out for the final week.

A large crowd for the annual Crohn's and Colitis 5K in Lake Como. It was on the humid side but the ocean breeze helped cool the runners as they traversed the course starting at Bar Anticipation and winding through Lake Como and then around The Lake Como with a return to Bar Anticipation. Runners were greeted to post race party with a barbecue and lots of awards.
Congratulations to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation for a great event as well as all the volunteers from the Jersey Shore Running Club who made the event possible.

The
Men's Winner was Rich Harris of East Windsor, shown on the left breaking the
winners tape in a time of 16:44 and for the women it was Chelsea Bollerman of
Little Silver on the right breaking the tape in 25:03.
It was a bit on the warm side for week 5 of the Club's Summer Series but the Kool Pops cooled everyone off and there were some fast times put in by some new participants to the series.
In the half Mile Andrew Dombowicki of Ocean continued his winning ways with a time of 2:29 and for the girls Kelly Campbell of Wall was first in 2:41. In the one mile Tracy Campbell of Wall finished first again in 6:05 and for the boys it was John Scotto of Spring lake in 5:33. In the Open 3 Miler it was Joe Ward of Manasquan and Jennifer Nelson of Barnegat.
Week 6 Continues This Thursday at the Wall Municipal Complex. Kids Races start at 6:30 and Open 43 miler at 7 PM.
