This was NOT a Jersey Shore Running Club Event

After the Seventh Bar  at Barry's in Bradley Beach

A Jersey Shore Tradition continued this past Saturday, July 18th in the Annual Ten Mile Ten Bar Run.  The Run started at the Long Branch Train Station and meandered its way South to a finish at Bar Anticipation in South Belmar.  In between there were stops at at least ten local establishments.  The run completed its trek at about 4:30 PM with everyone still standing.  The event was topped off with a barbecue and a train riide back to Long Branch for most of the participants.

Thanks

Dear Jersey Shore Running Club:

On behalf of the Pine Beach 5K Race Committee and the Borough of Pine Beach, I would like to thank JSRC for it's help with the 6th Annual Pine Beach 5K & One Mile Riverside Run.

We had a record number 875 enter in this year's race.  With your support this event has successfully and safely grown to one of the largest races in Ocean County.  This would not have been possible without the help of your dedicated club members and those members who participated in the race.

Thank you very much.

Women's 101 Starting

Sign Up Now - First Session June 16

JSRC Saturday in the Park Women's 5K is less than four months away!  Do you need to get back into running or know a woman who would like to learn to run?  We are pleased to announce that the JSRC Women's Running 101 Program at Holmdel Park is set to begin on June 16 and is now open for registration.  This program is open to women with little or no running experience or who have been out of running for a while and wish to train for the JSRC Saturday in the Park Women's 5K on Labor Day.

The 12 week fitness training session will be held at Holmdel Park on Wednesday evenings.  This Running 101 Program is now in its 3rd year and is hosted by experienced running coaches John MacGillivray and Elaine Hartung. Two sessions are scheduled to begin on June 16, 5PM and 6:30PM, to meet expected demand.  At the end of the 12 week training period, the participants target running the JSRC Women's 5K race held on Labor Day weekend.  The program fee includes many benefits, including a full year membership to JSRC.  Proceeds from the program will go to the Saturday in the Park 5K race to help fund women's charities in Monmouth and Ocean counties.

See  the Women's Running 101 section for download flyer and online registration.  Class size is limited and enrollment closed out last year.

The annual Womens Running 101 training program for beginners starts this coming Wednesday, June 16 at Holmdel Park.  The 6:30 class is nearing its capacity and may be closed by Monday.  The 5 PM class still has spots left.  To obtain the flyer for this program or to register on-line, go to www.jsrc.org and click on Womens Running 101.  If you have any questions, please e-mail the coaches at womensrunning101@yahoo.com
