In a stunning come-from-behind
victory, Jim Buckler's place in Golden Donut history is now even more firmly
planted in the JSRC annals. With relatively few early visits to Holmdel Park
under his belt, it first appeared that Jim was going to be hard-pressed to
continue his Golden Donut streak. Not only did Jim win with standard Golden
Donut credits, but he managed to be the only JSRC member to secure any of the
elusive Bonus Points, adding two (2) of them to his overall tally.
Congratulations to Jim!
This year we have two (2) Silver Donut recipients to round out the awards for
the season. Both JSRC newcomer Bill Moffat and perennial age group champion
Marilyn Ryder tied in this category. Let's congratulate Marilyn and Bill, as
well.
Thanks to the many JSRC members who paid at least one visit to the Saturday
Group Run this year. Participation reflected an overall increase in interest. So
keep that in mind when next January rolls around again. Until then, let's think
warm thoughts as we prepare for our Spring Season Opener tomorrow (Wed 4/2) at
6:00 at Holmdel Park.
