Photo Tour Of Our Sunday Run Course
We meet at 8 AM with some runners also going out at 9 AM.. In summer (July and Aug), the early run starts at 7 am and the regular run at 8 am. Call the hotline(732-542-6090)to confirm the times or if you have any questions. We run various distances starting from 6 miles to longer marathon training runs of 15+ miles which generally start earlier. We always have bagels, juice, and special treats after the run. The Run goes through some scenic wooded packed dirt and cinder roads. There are some nice trails which we often run through in Huber Woods and Hearthshorne Woods. Remember, we meet at Bodman Park in Middletown which is off Navesink River Road in Middletown, just over the Cooper Bridge from Red Bank. Directions from The Garden State Parkway - Red Bank Exit follow Rt 520 toward Red Bank. Immediately after the Exit take Half Mile Road (its a jughandle turn right after the parkway). And follow to the End. Make a Right onto West Front Street. Go about a mile to a traffic light and make a left onto Hubbard Street (sign). Follow for about Mile and Make a right at Traffic Light onto Navesink River Road . Follow Navesink River Road over Rt 35. About 1/4 mile on the left is a Sign for Bodman Park. Make the left hand turn and follow to the end. We meet at the Club House in between the baseball fields on the very end of the Road on the left.
We meet at the Shore Runner Store in Pier Village in Long Branch at 6:00 p.m. We do a 4-6 mile run along the boardwalk and around Lake Takanasseee passing the Dr. George Sheehan Memorial. The group runs are fun and a great way to meet other runners and exchange training tips or just have company on a run.
The run starts at 6 PM at the Pavilion, which has clean, heated indoor bathrooms. Use the first parking lot on the left, as you enter the park. Most of the group does a 5 mile workout, consisting of a one mile warm-up, one loop of the 5K cross country course and a one mile cool down. Some runners will complete multiple loops of the course for a longer workout. All paces are welcome. Holmdel Park has some of the finest running trails on the East Coast. Being a bit inland, runners can avoid the cold ocean breezes that we get in the spring at the Jersey Shore. Holmdel Park is located just off Roberts Road in Holmdel.
