with Local Charities for
Monmouth
County, NJ – April 21, 2006 – Although the Spring Lake Five Mile race has
been closed to runners since February, there is a still a chance for runners to
receive an entry and raise money for one of five local charities, thanks to the
Savings Bank Life Insurance Company of Massachusetts (SBLI), the title sponsor
of the Jersey Shore Golden Grand Prix. SBLI
has made 20 entries available to each of five local charities to use as a
fundraising tool.
The 2006 Spring Lake Five designated charities include the New Jersey Sharing Network, a non-profit, federally certified, state approved organ procurement organization (OPO); the Wellness Community at the Diney Goldsmith Center, a non-profit organization with a mission to help people affected by cancer enhance their health and well-being through participation in professional programs of emotional support, education, and hope; the Arthritis Foundation, the only nationwide, nonprofit health organization helping people take greater control of arthritis by leading efforts to prevent, control and cure arthritis and related diseases; Holiday Express, an organization whose mission is to deliver music, food, gifts and friendship to the mentally disabled, those living with illnesses, the homeless, the isolated elderly and others during the holiday season and throughout the year; and the Charity House, a foundation dedicated to donating help directly to those in need.

races associated with the SBLI Jersey Shore Golden Grand Prix, is about more
than just running for a personal best, it’s about increasing awareness for
charities and raising money to help their causes,” said Robert K. Sheridan,

In its third year, the SBLI Jersey Shore Golden Grand Prix has attracted runners from across the tri-state area competing for prize money in the individual races, as well as the overall series. Once again, prize money is awarded in the open and age group divisions in each of the SBLI Jersey Shore Golden Grand Prix races, as well as for the top point winners in the open and age group divisions at the series end.
